...Primarily because the Hydrogen is cheap and does not have to be transported to a long distance wherein the cost of transportation exceeds the cost of Hydrogen itself.   However, if cheap Hydrogen is not available or the distance from the source of Hydrogen exceeds around 100 kms or so, the delivered Hydrogen cost goes up and at longer distance to point of use, beyond the point of sustenance for this business model. 

...These generators are in addition to instantaneous backup power sources such as UPS and/or inverters for longer duration power supply through batteries.   The reliance on Diesel Generators has come due to good supply chain network and easy availability of Diesel all over the country and also the fact that Diesel in India is a heavily subsidized fuel. 

...Where Hydrogen is not available cheap, means sites 100 km or more away from Chlor Alkali plants, does it make sense to produce your own Hydrogen. 

...C) Produce enough Hydrogen required for multiple telecom towers  and BTS Units (serving them Hydrogen in the hub-spoke supply chain model).


What we found interestingly and not surprisingly is that if you look at Hydrogen Generation with a one-to-one relationship (Model A), the business model falters primarily because of the capex involved in Hydrogen Generator and the Fuel Cell. 


However, as you move towards Models B & C, this business model does become more attractive and it does start to make sense.

Notice that for the same GVV Truck and ensuing logistics cost, using Gas Bullets will reduce transport cost by 35 percent.

...The Bipolar alkaline electrolyzer, by virtue of its technology and internal volume containing Hydrogen and Oxygen, creates a hazardous area classification and as a result all other equipment installed in it&rsquo;s vicinity have to be fit for hazardous area installation. 

...Purity analyzers monitor unsafe levels of gas in the Hydrogen and Oxygen streams and are supplemented with Gas leak detectors to detect any leakage of Hydrogen in the electrolyzer area.

...A limited, higher pressure of Hydrogen purge maintained within the Rotor rotating space, increases the gas density. 

...It is important to note, each percentage point increase of Air impurity in Hydrogen will have a 14 times exponential increase in Gas density within the Rotor space in the Generator. 

...Most conscientious power generation companies use online Gas analysers and are content maintaining the TG purge purity in a range of 98% to 99.5%.   They utilize the Bleed-and-Feed control for maintaining purity by sending out an operator to manually adjust the fresh Hydrogen gas inlet and TG vent valve, to replace some gas within the Rotor space thus improve purity to the max. 

...Either this be done by online Hydrogen dryer or use Hydrogen gas of superior Dew point (-) 60&deg;C or better, and successfully use the &lsquo;displacement method&rsquo; to control purge atmosphere Dew point.

The scientists who are refining the recipe for the new hydrogen-based fuel said it will run in existing cars and engines at the fraction of the cost of conventional petrol.  The artificial petrol is expected to cost around $1.50 a gallon or 19 pence (aboutRs 14) a litre.


With hydrogen at its heart rather than carbon,it will not produce any harmful emissions when burnt,making it better for the environment,as well as easier on the wallet,the Daily Mail reported....  It has three times more energy than petrol per unit of weight,and when it burns,it produces nothing but water.


Our new hydrogen storage materials offer real potential for running cars,planes and other vehicles that currently use hydrocarbons, he added.


According to the report,the first road tests are due next year and,if all goes well,the cut-price petrol could be on sale in three to five years.  Energy from hydrogen can be harnessed by burning the gas or combining it with oxygen in a fuel cell to produce electricity.

...When compressed to 7 kg/cm2g, the temperature of discharge air reaches 140&deg;C.   Since atmospheric air always contains some moisture, it will enter the compressor and the concentration of this moisture will be increased by a ratio of 8:1 at 7 kg/cm2g.


For instance, when the compressor takes in 100 NM3/hr of ambient air at 40&deg;C and 50% relative humidity, at 7 kg/cm2g after the cooler will condense an average  of 30 litres of water in 24 hours.


Additionally, today&rsquo;s high performance compressor lubricants also cause additional problems, and need to be removed before they cause irreversible damage.   They will cause valve and gasket materials to fail, and wreak havoc on processing equipment and instruments.
