VPSA Oxygen Generator
VPSA Principle | PSA v/s VPSA | Benefits of VPSA | Product Photos

MVS Engineering is the leading manufacturer of Oxygen Generators in India. We have been manufacturing PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) and VPSA* (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) Oxygen generators for several years and have supplied many such units.

* VPSA is alternately known as VSA (Vacuum Swing Adsorption) and PVSA (Pressure Vacuum Swing Adsorption)

VPSA Principle:
This process consists of 2 beds filled with Molecular Sieves. These cycle alternately in Production and in Regeneration. Feed air pressure is generally 1.1 to 1.5 Bar, which gives Oxygen production at 1.05 to 1.3 Bar. Regeneration of Molecular sieves is done by a Vacuum pump 0.4 Bar Absolute pressure. The waste gas is 85% Nitrogen and 15% Oxygen which is vented to atmosphere. Product Oxygen gas purity is 90 to 95%.

Comparison of VPSA with PSA technology
  • Well suited for larger capacities
Due to lower power consumption in larger capacities, VPSA design is preferred and recommended for larger capacity (typically above 200 NM3/hr capacities) Oxygen requirements.
  • Lower power consumption
Power consumption is only 0.45 KW per cubic meter of Oxygen produced. At capacities above 200 NM3/hr, this is lower than a corresponding PSA unit.
  • Lower output pressure
Direct Oxygen production pressure is up to 1.3 Bar. This is lower than PSA plants, in which output pressure of up to 4 Bar can be derived.
However, for higher Oxygen pressure requirement in VPSA plants, Oxygen compressor is added and supplied by us.
  • Higher Investment
Compared to PSA Oxygen plants, VPSA plants are more costly to build. However, due to more efficient operation, this extra cost is easily recovered in short time.

    Benefits of VPSA technology
    Reliable, well-proven technology
VPSA technology has been used in MVS Oxygen generators for several years and our generators are operating successfully around the world. This technology is time tested and very well proven in the field. We use molecular sieves from only well renowned and reputed suppliers, which ensures that you get many years of trouble free operation and long life from your investment.

    Fast Startup
These units can be turned ON and OFF on-demand with the push of a single button. VPSA units only require 15 minutes to start producing high purity Oxygen and there isn’t a need for the unit to be running when you are not consuming Oxygen gas. This is unlike the cryogenic Oxygen plants where the unit has to be kept running whether Oxygen is needed or not.

    Modular Design
MVS incorporates the use of several skids and designing the system in a modular construction. This feature allows easy transportation and easy installation of the system at your site. Our engineer is present at site to oversee installation and also to assist with commissioning and training of your personnel.

    Long life, low maintenance
There are very limited moving parts in the VPSA process and hence with routine preventive maintenance, MVS Oxygen Generators give you years and years of trouble free operation.

Continuous, uninterrupted supply and guaranteed purity
When you install the VPSA Oxygen generator on-site, you are in control of your Oxygen supply. If you are currently using Liquid Oxygen tank, then there is always dependence on your suppliers and there is no guarantee of the purity of Oxygen being supplied. With VPSA system, you can be sure of the purity of Oxygen you get with the included Oxygen purity analyzer.

    High quality
MVS uses best quality molecular sieves and only procures it from world renowned and reputed suppliers. Unlike the Chinese make molecular sieves that are available for much lower cost, there are no problems in our molecular sieves such as excessive dust, low Oxygen purity and short life.

    Models:
MVS offers a variety of models from 200 to 5000 NM3/hr Oxygen capacity needs. 93% purity Oxygen produced has 2.5% Nitrogen and 4.5% Argon.
