Nitrogen-Hydrogen (HNX) mix gas requirement for Galvanizing of Steel Sheets

Galvanization (or galvanizing as it is most commonly called in the Steel industry) is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. The quality of the processing relies on the ability to handle correctly the heat cycle and the strip surface by the control of three processing parameters. A gas tight enclosure filled with protective gas mixture of typically 95 % nitrogen and 5 % hydrogen, combined with the control of the pressure and of the injection flows achieves a complete protection of the strip surface against oxidation.

In Galvanizing lines, N2H2 (nitrogen-hydrogen) gas is used in large quantities for providing reducing atmosphere to prevent oxidation at high temperatures. MVS supplies such high purity Nitrogen generators producing 99.999% purity Nitrogen with Oxygen less than 1-ppm. For Hydrogen enrichment, Ammonia cracker is provided, producing Hydrogen at low cost.

MVS also supplies automatic N2H2 Mixing Unit with Hydrogen Analyzer Controller by which Hydrogen can be regulated in the range of 10% to 35%.

MVS has supplied many Nitrogen generators in the capacities from 200 NM3/hr to 600 NM3/hr in India & also exported to Tanzania, Egypt, Bangladesh, Kenya etc. These Gas generators produce N2H2 gas at very low cost as compared to using Hydrogen Plant & Liquid Nitrogen Tanks.
