Power-Gen 2012 – Successful participation by Proton and MVS

MVS Engineering, along with our Principals – Proton OnSite recently participated in Power-Gen India and Central Asia 2012 from April 19-21, 2012 in New Delhi. Under the theme Switching on India’s Power Future all the major companies related to the Power sector had participated at this high-profile exhibition including Gammon India, BHEL, Toshiba, NTPC, L&T, BGR Energy, Desein-Indure etc.

We got tremendous response at our booth. This being our second year exhibiting, we not only got to meet our customers, but also many prospective customers who are now at the point of decision making in the procurement cycle.

The advance PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) technology hydrogen generators offered by Proton was a buzz of excitement around the show. The response from the visitors covered a myriad of areas, including:

1) Customers wanting cleaner options vis-a-vis conventional KOH type Hydrogen Generators.

2) Customers looking for safe Hydrogen Generation options including direct delivery of Hydrogen to the TG sets.

3) Consultants evaluating cost saving options for their Power Plant customers.

4) Renewable Energy requirements including Hydrogen for fuel cells.

The heartening response of the visitors for the product showed a clear indication that the PEM technology will steadily pave its path through the power sector in India.

“We are heartened by the response we got at Power-Gen 2012. While we saw a marginal reduction in the number of visitors as compared to last year, this was primarily due to the slowdown in the overall Indian Power Sector. However, we have received a number of enquiries that we foresee maturing in the next 6-8 months and that bodes very well for our rapidly growing business. We met a large number of customers who are getting tired of non-performing Chinese Hydrogen Generators and obsolete Unipolar technology. The market is gradually accepting the phenomenon that cheapest is not necessarily in their best interest because of a large number of hidden costs. With the Proton Hydrogen Generator, you get a fully assembled Hydrogen Generator that can be deployed and commissioned in as little as 2-days and this means tremendous savings for the customer.”, Siddharth Rastogi, Executive Director & Director (Sales) for Hydrogen.
