Working procedure of a PSA nitrogen generator
This nitrogen generator works on the principle of Pressure Swing Adsorption or PSA. There are two strong vessels filled with Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS) and Activated Alumina. Atmospheric air is compressed and cooled before passing through one of these vessels. Oxygen, hydrogen, and water vapor are all absorbed in this vessel. Hence, only pure and dry nitrogen emerges from this nitrogen generator.
At regular intervals, the absorbed oxygen is released back into the atmosphere through a depressurization process, to free the carbon molecular sieves from the saturation of oxygen molecules. At that time, the nitrogen generation process is automatically directed to another vessel, to maintain continuity in production. In this way, the machine remains fit for nitrogen production all the time, due to the efficient design of this nitrogen gas company.
Therefore, the nitrogen production is alternated between these two vessels. The generator continues producing nitrogen in bulk volumes due to this unique alternation procedure. The produced nitrogen is collected in a surge vessel, which acts as a storage tank. MS Model is the basic nitrogen generator of MVS Engineering, which was initially manufactured in 1984. The flow range of a PSA nitrogen generator is 1 Nm3/hr to 2000 Nm3/hr. the delivery pressure of nitrogen gas is 5 bar(g) and higher pressure can be achieved with the help of a booster compressor. Dew point of dry nitrogen gas ranges between (-) 60°C and (-) 80°C. The nitrogen gas produced is 95% to 99.9999% pure and free from all impurities.
