PSA Oxygen Plant – A Better Option than Liquid Oxygen Plant

High-quality pure oxygen is essential for saving the lives of patients who are suffering from critical respiratory problems. Many people want to buy liquid oxygen cylinders for medical or industrial purposes. However, these cylinders are quite expensive and it is not convenient to get an onsite liquid oxygen plant. Hence, MVS Engineering Pvt. Ltd offers a PSA oxygen plant that produces pure oxygen gas continuously.

How does PSA oxygen plant work?

The PSA oxygen plant of MVS Engineering is much better than a liquid oxygen production plant that is based on cryogenic distillation technology. On the contrary, MVS Engineering applies Pressure Swing Adsorption technology while developing its oxygen plant.

The flow rate of PSA oxygen plants varies between 1nm3/hr and 200nm3/hr. Though it is believed that 100% pure oxygen is produced from a liquid oxygen plant, MVS Engineering guarantees 95% purity of oxygen produced from its PSA generator, which is widely accepted purity by various Pharmacopoeias. This skid-mounted device is highly durable and needs minimum maintenance. Expert engineers of MVS Engineering handle the installation process and also initially supervise the operation of this system at the client’s site.

PSA oxygen plant consists of two vessels, to separate oxygen from nitrogen and other components of atmospheric air. Air is purified and compressed at a temperature of 30°C before starting the production of oxygen gas. When air passes through these vessels, carbon molecular sieves and activated alumina absorb nitrogen, which is later released back into the atmosphere. Oxygen is delivered under a pressure of 5 kg/cm2g. An extra booster can be added to this generator if higher gas pressure is essential while passing oxygen to required sites. The dew point of oxygen gas is (-) 40°C, which can be measured by the instrument provided by MVS Engineering.

The production cost of a PSA oxygen generator is quite cheaper compared to a liquid oxygen generation plant, making oxygen supply cheaper for patients in hospitals. Automatic PLC control helps to run this generator without manual supervision, except switching on and off this device. Thus, it is the best option for customers in all fields to meet their requirements.
