Useful Hydrogen Generation Plant for Producing Pure Hydrogen

Pure hydrogen gas is not available from the atmosphere. It needs to be derived from some hydrogen-based compounds. MVS Engineering Pvt. Ltd has manufactured the hydrogen generation plant by applying the most suitable technology.

This machine decomposes water or hydrocarbons to produce 99% pure hydrogen. Bipolar technology and proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology are applied for hydrogen production.

Comparison between Bipolar technology and PEM technology

● The purity of hydrogen is 99% in both electrolysers, eliminating traces of all other gases and moisture.

● Hydrogen production capacity is usually much higher with bipolar technology, ranging from 5 Nm3/hr to 500 Nm3/hr. PEM technology can produce a hydrogen stream of only 0.25 Nm3/hr to 500 Nm3/hr, based on the model of the electrolyzer.

● The dew point of hydrogen produced by both electrolyzers is – 65°C, which shows that this resultant gas is dry.

● The hydrogen gas is delivered under the pressure of 15 bars after being produced from the hydrogen generation plant operated by either of the technologies.

● Oxygen is the by-product of the hydrogen generation process, as hydrogen is produced from deionized water. This oxygen can be recovered with an extra effort in the case of bipolar technology, whereas oxygen cannot be recovered at all when PEM technology is applied.

● Only electrical power, deionized water, and cold water for cooling the machine are needed for hydrogen production with both technologies.
